So, over the weekend I rebuilt the rig that helps me shop online for Jeep parts and also keeps me entertained in between off-roading. No this was not cheap, but I don't expect to be having to do this again for a long long time with the current state of hardware, and it's also compatible with the next gen of Intel chips coming out next year if for some reason I feel the need for a processor upgrade. For those that know computer hardware (I think there's a couple of you not sure), I replaced the video card, motherboard, cpu, and RAM memory, retaining everything else (hard drives, DVD writer, case, etc.). Still in the process of figuring out which version of Windows (7 or 8.1) to keep on it since I have access to both, but since I'm not heavily into online gaming like I was 4 1/2 years ago the last time I rebuilt, I'm not feeling "the crunch" to get everything back up and running so I'm taking my time to figure out the windows version part. Anyway, here's a few pics of the build process. Anyway, feel free to skip it if you're not interested

Here's the old system, picture is from right after I moved all of its hardware into a new case that I bought a bit after originally building it.

Old hardware, plus the new video card (long bit with the dual fans in it in the upper leftish) that was in the system for a month before doing this upgrade. You can also see my massive heatsink in the upper middle that will be going back on the new system to keep the processor cool. This design is 4+ years old and still one of the top 10 air cooler setups even today.

Backside with the spaghetti of wiring that will be re-routed and zip tied up all nicely once the build is done. Mostly it's all power cabling and wiring for the front panel power switches, usb ports, etc. on the case.

Nearly complete, one more fan to put on the heatsink. You can see the long red RAM modules installed and most of the wiring connected up.
