So one day, I had enough of it and made my mind to pull the head to see what might be going on. Started after work around 8PM and was done around 11PM.

I couldn't seen anything wrong. Took the head to a machine shop and sure enough, it had a hair line crack between 1st and 2nd cylinder.
At this point, I was debating between just putting a new head on OR do a complete engine rebuild. I figured since I have over 160K, sooner or later I will have to rebuild it anyway. Then that lead me into building a 4.7 high compression stroker with a cam that yields amazing torque at low RPMs.
I left the jeep parked for 2 months while I did my research and gathered the parts. Once I had everything in my garage, the fun began:











This was my FIRST time rebuilding ANY engine. I was SUPER happy when it fired right up without ANY problems for the first time after the rebuild.
