Passed the test ... Now just have to wait till my call sign shows up in FCCs database.

Thanks guys! The only "study" that I did was doing the practice tests on this site: http://www.qrz.com/hamtest/
Keep repeating the test until you get 80% or higher consistently ... you will have no problems passing the test.

I should have suggested this earlier but I guess better late than never. You should get your FRN # when you get your ticket. FCC references almost everything via your FRN. So for those who have not tested yet it is a great idea to apply for it before testing. You do not need a licence to get a FRN.

I registered with FCC to get my FRN before I went for my test. Used my FRN instead of SSN on the test

Good, not useing your ssn is just one of the bennefits. If you have to renew after one year of your licence expiring you will have to have it in order to renew as well as taking the test, in order to keep your call the same. Brother-in-law just went threw that hassle and now after 10 years I never get his call right because his ended up changing. He got his FRN this time, as did my sister.
