Snow camping off m61 Feb 24/26

Went snow camping off m61 fri/sat. Didn't take a lot of pics but hit about 3ft of snow a third of the way up m61. I could float on top but was the only one who could.There are two washouts on m6 now one of which is about to close the road I assume. It's about acouple miles before the m61 turn from m6 coming from m1. We were worried we would have to drive out to stoneyford to get home. The two chevys werent going anywhere above 5500ft in that snow. I wanted to go over the top of hull but had my son and no other rigs. it hit 17 degrees sat night.

So the county road from potter valley is washed out and closed. Pg&e closed the logging road due to liability. The only way in is from lake county and that road now has marked sink holes in numerous places. As well as large slidez jst above the road in two places

We came across an abondonded truck on our way out this morn on m61. Found it's driver 5 miles down walking. Said he'd been there since Sat night stuck without food. I pulled him out and got to m1/m6 where rangers had been looking for him on both sides of the mtn.

We went sledding all day sat, I made a 300 yard downhill track with my jeep just outside of our camp. Id post vid but don't know how to host it

The top of this hill is as far as I went up m61. Right at the top there is a right turn labeled 20N22.

Great sled hill but one hell of a hike at 5500ft

Believe it or not the snow on that road in the above pic has 2.5ft of snow on it. It didn't become apparent until the 8000lb chevy 2500 tried to go up
