Been working like crazy but this Saturday we are heading out to check out Little Doe camp by Howard lake. We will see where we end up but hey, jeeping in Mendocino is always fun

We we left at 8 am and 200 miles later got home at 9:30 pm. It was a crazy day that turned out amazing. Started up the M 4 and first came to Surger Springs Camp. Nice little camp with plenty of rounds already to go.
Then saw Government Flats. Gate Locked. We may or may not of walked on to private property....
From there we hit the M 2 and then took a cut over to the M 1 and started north again till we saw Howard Lake
Perfect! ! Till we went another mile down to find this
No jeeping around that wash out. So we headed back up the M 1 and went back across to the M 2 and pulled off the see Bald Rock
On up to the M 21 and stopped at Hammerhorn Camp. It was locked but we jeepped on over some rocks. Clean camp of about 10 spots, low lake level and full of lilies
Then once we went across the M 21 and started back down the M 1.
Little Doe camp was pretty ruff. Lots of deer hangers so I'm sure it's full during hunting season.
We if you drive through little Doe that takes you down to Howard Lake. We didn't k ow that so we kept driving another 2 mile and came to the washout again!!!. Back down and through Little Doe and we thought we were going to make it but
Tree. But nothing a little jeeping couldn't get around
Finally made it

Swam for about 3 hours and ate. So around 5pm we started back . Saw about 15 deer, 2 BIG black bears and a little red fox. About 85° all day and got into the 70s on the drive home

Nice! Thanks for sharing. I really need to get up there and do some exploring. You beat the heat in the valley for sure. I was in Oroville all weekend and 108* is no fun.

I was worried about the heat coming back but it stayed cool until we hit the salt creek conservation camp. We saw 2 ppl all day and didn't pass any cars. We are camping at Plaskett Meadows this coming Friday Saturday and Sunday
