It is a fun, challenging trail, but the best part, IMO, is the awesome camping at Lake Alpine. Hope the trail stays open.

Wow! That is terrible. What a mess. Gonna be slim pickins for trails in the Sierras this season looks like. I wonder if Niagra Rim trail is open? That could be a good alternative.
