Christmas tree run NORTH?

I'm pretty much brand new to the forum and looking to do some weekend wheelin with a family friendly group. I noticed the "3rd Annual Christmas Tree Trip" and wondered if there is anyone interested in going tree hunting/wheeling on Lassen, or over on HWY 36 west of Red Bluff, or ?

We have been going with friends up to Lassen (near Ashpan Rec. Area) for years. Not locked into location though. Usually get permits ($10) take some firewood and food and have fun on the mountain. Never sure until the last minute if there will be snow. Usually go a weekend or two after Thanksgiving.

My old stomping grounds. Used to snow ski there as a girl/teenager and had a family ranch nearby in Manton. Long time ago. I might be very interested depending on when. Would love to see pics if I can't make it.

Well I think we're out of town the weekend of Thanksgiving and that's probably a weekend most people have family/friend turkey stuff planned anyways. So we'll shoot for Saturday Dec. 5th and see who's interested. If you know anybody in the Redding area that might be interested let em know. I'll try to get the info for tree permits in the next week or so.

Some what off topick however there may be some interested in doing a run to the WW2 internment camp up in the NE for a weekend trip. Come spring or summer hint hint
I wanted to do that for years and never got the time or a copilot for it.

I've had that on my list too. Coming from the bay area would probably like to make it a 3 day trip as there are other runs around that area. Sorry for being off topic also.

Turns out that the 5th is the Christmas Parade in Redding, something I'm looking forward to. Maybe we'll try next year?
