I've been. Its just like cow mountain except the road that takes you from one end to the other is one lane. There is a walking path down to the river near the dam. Its 3 miles outside of redding and an hour from my wife's families "cabin"

When I was there the trails were much better than cow as far as pinstripes. Definitely worth checking out in my opinion because you get to use 4x and it's great scenery. If it's clear you can see mt Shasta in all it's glory.

I'll be in Dunsmuir next week, so I might check it out. Maybe find some trails on the mountain too.

I went out to Chappie a few weeks back and wheeled it with some folks from Redding Black Sheep 4WD Club and the NorCal Jeeps. There are a lot of roads and trails. We went from the dam to French Gulch. No pin-stripping on the trails we went on but I know some of them are pretty bad. Make sure you have DL and registration so you can cross the dam.
