Hey there. I'm Clayton, I have lurked around here off and in for a couple of years. I live in Arnold about 28 miles from slick rock. First joined when I got my waggoner. That was a pos,and was never able to take it anywhere. Next I got myself a 67 gladiator j3000 (I still have her) that runs like a raped ape. But sadly stops like one as well. Got a few things fixes on her, but ran into a problem of locating parts.

As of Friday I am the proud owner of a 93 6cyl lifted with 33s. Mostly stock, but a couple upgrades. Had a crack in the exhaust manifold, and the top half of a muffler. Both have been fixed. The manifold just welded and jb welds to cover any pin holes. And an old faithful magnaflow stage 2 muffler swapped for the stock that was missing the bottom half.

Took her out to camp 9 right outside of Murphys, the night I got her. Just to check the 4wd. And took her all the way out 7n09(just below slickrock trail off hwy 4) and a few side forest roads in that area. As well as some gnarly fire trails near Jenny Lind.

Need to replace the front 2 tires and start saving for a set of new. I also need to decide if I'm going to do the spring over lift and go with 35s,or just sick with the 33s. The last owner just had new drivelines and a slip yolk eliminator installed, so it might be smart just to keep the 33s.

I'll be out around 7n09 all weekend of September 23rd for the opening of hunting season. If you see the jeep, I named her "Faith", so in and say hi.

Nice looking YJ, and welcome back! I really want to run Slick Rock again before winter, but not sure if it's in the cards for me. I'd stick with 33's. More challenging that way and friendlier on the pavement.

Howdy:

Have you taken the Jenny Lind trails near Rancho Calavers, Ca.? Next time I head up Hwy 4 I wanted to hit some trials around the area. Where would I pick up the Jenny Trails?
My Garmin perfers to use street addresses if there available.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I Have been hunting the d5 zone off of 7n09 right before cabbage patch. I would love to meet up on a run sometime. I like the idea of 33s as well but my buddy and brother keep trying to talk me into the 35s. Currently I'm running 3.55 gearing as well, debating on keeping it, yet I keep hearing 4.11 would be better for me as I live in the mountains. Any input would be great

No buck, but have seen one every day we have been out. So it is coming. I do like the 33s, I figure have to take smarter lines, and lower center of gravity.

So I am new to the entire thought off changing gears. So I have no idea what a change will do. Anyone have the patients to explain? I get the basics, but I can't find anything to explain to a newbie like myself. I get to the technical point in am article and my brain just stops.
