I am in the process of finding out what the original ratio was. But I'm thinking 4.56 or 4.88, without doing any math.

After doing the math a little, I am debating on keeping the 3.55 our going with 4.11. I a.m. looking for a website that I can run the vin through to possibly know which gearing it came with. If it was the 3.07, then the math says 3.49, which 3.55 would be great. But if ut was either 3.54 or 3.73 then I am looking at 4.02 and 4.24 respectively. Both I think would work with 4.10 or 4.11.

I have only had her out for 2 weekend and only hit moderate trails, and agree has done great. I think I want to try a bit more difficult trail before I make a decision.

Thoughts?

That’s the best way to find out what you need. Take her out on some sporty stuff and see how she does

No jeeping today, but i did get some wrenching. I picked up my exhaust manifold and started pulling it tonight. Took about 3 hours, but I got it all off. I have a few things to do tomorrow, but I should get some time to clean everything up and put it back together.

Perfect timing as well. My brother welded the manifold 3 weeks ago when I got the jeep. But there were 2 small holes he could not get to. So I JB welded those holes earlier this week. Well that next morning the damned thing cracked at another bend.

After I'm done with this I plan to drain the oil, drop the pan and regasket it as it is leaking slightly. Not enough to leave a drop in my garage floor after sitting overnight, but I do see some oil on the pan and some of the undercarriage.

And done. 3 more hours today and got it all cleaned up and back together. Oh my does it sound so much better.

Now I get to drive this engine to valley springs for my brothers next project.

Is that a 240Z straight six? What's it going in? FYI, I have a set of 4.10 gears for a LP D30 if that is what you have up front.
